Marta Ferri - Molteni furniture fabrics
Marta Ferri, Italian talented couturier, designed for Molteni & C the furniture collection of "Materia" fabrics. Archival images are interpreted and transformed into new patterns, three digital prints from the sophisticated sign.
The quality of Molteni & C's world is cleverly interpreted and transferred to the textiles where modernity leaves clear references to the Comasca tradition of silk prints.
This collaboration is the point of arrival of a research work begun by designer Marta Ferri as Molteni design among the archives of the largest textile production companies made in Italy.
A collection that fully reflects the great sensibility of the designer combined with designer pieces by Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni and Vincent Van Duysen, whose shapes completely exalt the new Molteni furniture fabrics.
Three protagonists patterns of "Matteria": foliage, roots and straw.
Inspired by the natural world, its shapes and colors, Fogliage resembles the variety of tropical leaves, bringing a touch of exotic in the home. Roots wants to recall, with its simplicity, the roots of large trees while Paglia is a clear textile interpretation of the typical straw texture of Vienna.
In addition to the new "Materia" pattern reinterprets the world of velvet, chenille, flax and skin, combining the classic glossiness of leather with the softness of aniline leather.
"As with all new things, there is the excitement of learning. To get to know the world of Molteni & C, the products and the professionals working there, inspired the final result." These are the words from Marta Ferri to describe what she experienced the protagonist in the production of Molteni furniture fabrics.
